Questions people ask

How often are treasury bill auctions held in Zambia?

Every two weeks, on Thursdays, in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Bank of Zambia publishes the calendar each quarter.

How often are government bond auctions held?

Twice a quarter in the fourth quarter of 2026, on Fridays. A 20-year bond is being introduced alongside the 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 15-year bonds.

How do I take part?

Through a commercial bank or a broker, who bids for you at the auction. Ask them for their deadline before the auction date.
